THE WINE: Sangiovese
THE PLACE: Tuscany, Italy
THE TASTE: black pepper/tannic/berries
THE WINEMAKER: Swiss/Italian women winemaker Antonella Manuli is a powerhouse and we were lucky enough to host her for a winemaker talk recently while she was in LA. We tried her new vintages and olive oils and discussed the importance of regenerative farming. She is obsessed with the health of her volcanic soil and creates wines that are approachable yet interesting, all while healing her land located in the "wild west" of Tuscany. She is a vital proponent to regenerative farming in the area that largely does not care about such things. She was one of the earliest natural winemakers we knew about and it was so exciting to finally meet and host this brilliant woman in person.
